The Beginning of the Journey

Over the past few years, my love and skill for software and technology has only developed linearly every day that goes by. I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to attend multiple school clubs and compete with fellow classmates to accomplish tasks in JavaScript. My school has also been able to provide multiple classes that pertain to learning computer science, providing AP classes that satisfy my intrinsic motivation to quench my thirst for knowledge. From this experience, I'm grateful to say that I have developed skills in JavaScript that make me acknowledgeable as a novice programmer, as I am familiar with such topics as object-oriented programming. Though these teachings would be considered enough for an individual, I beg to ask the question of what's next. The ISM program gave me an opportunity to experience what my occupation would be in the real world, as well as, gain the chance to solve my other questions of the whos and whats that a software development holds. This question made me plateau as I started considering what I could do to further develop my skills. I was conflicted, as my love for coding diminished with the lack of opportunities I found. I made efforts to solve this depression by finding inspiration from my father, who gave me insight into his job (my topic of interest). I expect this class to complete everything with motive and inspire my future self to strive even further when reflecting on what was created before. Although this expectation was met, I unfortunately didn't find the punctuality that I hoped for, as I held myself accountable for being ahead of schedule, and unfortunately fell behind due to my management of myself. This following week, I will continue to stay mentally firm and strive to follow my goal of being ahead of the class in order to stay more professional and prepared for the future.
