ISM Gallery Walk
2/12/2024
This week, as a method for ISM advertisement and a form of preparation for the ISM Research Showcase, I was able to participate in an ISM Gallery Walk, where students would line up and down the main halls and rotunda of our School facility and pitch our topic research, original work, and other inquiries to inspired students and other classmates.
To prepare for this showcase, I had to create and design my board that was discussed in last week's blog. With my efforts to construct and polish a tri-fold that expressed my topic, prospective mentor, and original work, I was now secure in my confidence during the event.
On the day of the event, before the event started, I left during our Schools free passing period to go home and change into a formal business attire that I could use for the presentation. After I did so, I brought my poster and set up my stand at the end of the rotunda for the Gallery Walk scheduled all throughout the 3rd period. The premise was that many students attending lunch would voluntarily walk through every board when done with their lunch. Though this was the case, because of the positioning and set up, myself along with other students were situated away from the main traffic of the cafeteria, so we did not get any interested individuals other than friends and previous ISM students.
