Growth is a word that I associate this past week with, as not only did I intellectually learn and grow through tips on communication and presenting, but I literally grew my networking and started to reach out to more prospective mentors.

As we were assigned a research presentation date, I was excited to have the opportunity to once again blend my research and knowledge with my sense of humor and likings of communication; However, this is where my weakness spored from. On the presentation date, I only realized then that I had created an unprofessional slideshow that did not fully represent all the material I had learned in the most mature manner. My mistake cost me not only time to rest and prepare my speech, but also, most blatantly, my presentation value and held maturity. On the day of the presentation, I was able to perform to the best of my ability, but I still felt incomplete with the presentation and my performance. I will use this experience to back the now-established methodology of not focusing heavily on humor and cultural relationships.

With my feedback on verbiage and body language, I will strive to present what is now expected of me.  In addition to this presentation, I was also given the opportunity to reach out again to all prospective mentors. Under the influence of Mr. Green, my ISM teacher, I was able to construct a response that not only ended the relationship between me and the mentor on good terms but also gave me an opportunity to ask for further connections; hopefully giving me the chance to network out and expand myself.
